Prep for the day's meetings with Perplexity Comet reading your calendar, email, LinkedIn and X

Francis, an angel investor in the New York area, spent an hour a day pulling together context for founder meetings scattered across Gmail, LinkedIn and X. He connected Comet to Gmail and Google Calendar and asked for a briefing on every meeting of the day. For LinkedIn and X, the browser opened tabs and searched the conversations on its own.

How it works

  1. Install the Comet browser and get the paid plan to unlock the Gmail and Google Calendar connectors.

  2. Give it read-only access to your email and calendar.

  3. Stay signed in to LinkedIn and X in Comet so the agent can look up messages in those tabs.

  4. Ask for a briefing on the day's meetings that pulls conversations from every platform and suggests questions.

  5. To speed things up next time, ask founders to send their deck and company details by email.

Prompt

Replace anything in [brackets] with your own details.

prompt.txt
Look at my Google Calendar for today and prepare me for each meeting. For each person, pull together what we discussed in Gmail, on LinkedIn and in X DMs, summarize the company and the deck if there is one, and suggest the questions I should ask.

Reported result

His daily prep went from about 1 hour to 5 minutes of his own time; Comet took about 10 minutes to work through the whole calendar. The author says the suggested questions were better than his and surfaced competitors he didn't know about.
