Turn 2 hours of travel footage into an edited film with Manus

To show off the Manus 2.0 video editor, the Manus team loaded 125 clips from a three-day trip, almost two hours in total, straight from an external drive. The agent transcribed and analyzed every clip, built a story that follows the trip's itinerary and handed back a timeline where everything stays editable.

How it works

  1. Install Manus Studio (macOS or Windows) and keep the clips in a folder or on an external drive.

  2. Drag the videos into the chat or tell Manus which folder they're in.

  3. Ask for a travel film with a target length that follows the order of the days.

  4. If the first cut runs long, ask for a list of segments with their length and lines, and have it cut anything repetitive or slow.

  5. Ask for the style you want (titles, stickers, music by mood) and adjust any track by hand in the editor.

Prompt

Replace anything in [brackets] with your own details.

prompt.txt
Import the 125 clips in /Volumes/Drive/Trip and make a travel film of about 10 minutes that follows the three-day itinerary. Use what people say to pick the best moments, cut repetitive or slow parts, split the music by mood and lower it when someone is speaking. Keep captions, effects and music on separate tracks so I can edit them later.

Reported result

The first cut ran 12:48 and the agent trimmed it to 10:50 with 195 cuts. The final timeline has 325 captions, 112 text effects and stickers, 7 music cues and 118 sound effects, all editable (a case published by Manus itself).

As reported by the source. Results depend on your setup and your data.
